When I tried to creat an account (log in name and password) either nothing happened or a window came up saying there's been a mistake. Help I'd like to be able to read Patch.

The repsonse I get when signing up is that my email address is not correct, yet it is my email address that I have had forever. What is wrong or am I doing something wrong?

I've registered and think I was logged in, but when I tried to add a comment to the "Bashful Heart Bear" article, a message appeared saying my password was incorrect. I've gone through correcting it once, and I'm not sure what to do next. Thanks.

I think there is some major problem with your website. About four months ago, I signed up, subscribed and was able to log in to "The Patch" and was receiving daily emails, and then they abruptly stopped. Today, I signed up again because a message stated that my email address was not on file??? Please help. Thank you, S. Fregeau

I signed up and was apparently sent a verification email about 4 or 5 days ago. When I attempted to comment on a blog today and tried to sign in it said I had not verified my account. I came here and got a message that my email address was not on file so I signed up again, got the verification email and verified the account. Then when I went back to post my comment, it again told me I had to verify my account. I tried clicking to get a new email sent and it said that one had been sent, but I have not received it and therefore can not sign in.

I signed up earlier this week, but when I tried to sign in today it said that I need to verify my account thru an email link that was never sent. I have requested this email to be resent several times and it hasn't shown up. Patch shows my email address as being registered and some features (password reset) successfully send an email to my address. Why doesn't the account verification one come through (it's not in spam/junk mail)?

I signed up with Patch without a problem two days ago….created an event without a problem…logged in again to modify my event without a problem…all in one day….but later later that nighty, I was not able to log in again…keep getting all of these messages such as…
You did enter the right email, but before we can continue, you need to follow the link we sent you by email on October 25, 2011. If you missed it, we can resend your welcome email.
So I click on “resend your welcome email.”…..but I do not receive any emails and I have done this a few times…so aggravating. Then I get a message on the Patch webpage indicating:
We’ve just sent you a new welcome email. Please verify your account by clicking the activation link found in the email. Thanks!
Then I go to my email but there are no emails from Patch.com….so confused…I need to edit my event but not able to.....most likely will never use this site again….so frustrating.

I had already signed up for Santa Monica Patch and wanted to add an event for Oct. 30. I went through the whole process of signing up the event and now, it seems, my efforts were in vain. What's the problem? I don't see my event listed.

I never got an email from Patch, nor did I get one today when I signed up yet again. Do you guys have an actual webmaster, or are you just winging it?

I would like to echo the frustration being shared here regarding the welcome email. I have tried repeatedly to have it resent, even using alternate email accounts. As a reader, I find it very off-putting that a news site based on community dialogue and coverage cannot appropriately address the needs of the community it covers. What's more frustrating for me personally is that I am a journalist and this issue is currently preventing my work from being published on Patch, which prevents me from getting paid.
I would very much like to see Patch become a success and be a part of it. But I have to question the sustainability of an organization that cannot put their news in the inbox of customers who want it and cannot take submissions from journalists who have agreed to work with Patch. Please address this! I would love nothing more than to help build my local Patch into the go-to news source for my community but I need some help here.

I just tried to create an account with Patch to be able to advertise and post an announcement but everytime I try to go in it says log in failed and I have to set up a new account but it never allows me to get into Patch?

I have the same issue as many others. I have created an account and when I try to log in, it does not work. It says wrong password or username, but I am sure what I have entered is correct. I even changed the oassword, reset it, but when I log into the local patch site, it does not recognize me. I plan to be a contributing writer, but I can't get passes the gates to begin. Thanks for your help.

I was receiving patch e-mails from a few towns. when i unsubscribed from the other towns, somehow i unsubscribed from west orange as well. i do live in w.o. and want to get reinstated to receive daily e-mails but can't seem to be able to do this. please reinstate me. thanks for your help!

I have been trying to sign in for the last 15 minutes. I received a message saying that I needed to activate my account. I checked my inbox and junk mail folder but could not find that an activation email was ever sent. I asked that it be resent....still no email. I tried to change my password but got the same message to "activate" my account. I double checked the email address thinking you had the wrong address but you have the correct one. What gives??

Whenever I try to comment on an article, I'm told to sign in -- when I try to do that, I'm told my password isn't valid -- I've changed it at least 3 times but still can't sign in.

Hi folks,
My sincere apologies for the trouble. The system currently requires that you activate your account within 24 hours of creating it in order to log in. After 24 hours, if you have not yet clicked the activation link (which is sent to your email address in an email), you will not be able to log in. If this is the case then please email support@patch.com and we are happy to help out with getting your account activated and logged in.
In the case of either the activation email or the password reset email, please make sure to check your Junk/Spam folder if you do not see the email within a few minutes. If you still don't receive the email, please email support@patch.com and we can help.

I've had this same problem twice. What is missing in the above 'answer scenario' is the assumption that a welcome message arrived at my email account to confirm my email address. I've found this not to be true, additionally I've checked spam on both occasions. So it allows me to create the account, logs me, and allows posting for 24-48 hours. But then the problems start
