How do I "complete my registration" ?

I submitted an event on the Three Village (New York) patch and received an email telling me :
In order to complete your registration, please activate your account here:
http://www.patch.com/activate/344862f2d96f796b89a92e14d36791a53c89a554
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This link doesn't do anything to complete my registration. What do I now?
