I tried to add an event and it said that the address was out of the boundaries of my Patch town. Can I still add it to the calendar?

Bummer! Not to worry though, there is a way around this limitation. Please remember that events should only be added to a nearby Patch if the event is still relevant to that town and its inhabitants.

You should be able to add an event outside your Patch area, however if the business is not listed, you will need to specify the address and add a description for the business name without a listing. To add an event using just the address, follow these steps:

1. Go to http://www.patch.com/

2. Select the desired location on the right

3. Click Events at the top

4. Click Add Event on the right

5. Enter the address or part of the address into the Where search box, making sure to leave out the name of the venue

6. When the address is found, click Select on the right

7. Under the address name, click Add Details to enter the business name

8. Enter the remaining information for the event and click Post My Event at the bottom to post it

Note that the system should allow you to manually enter the address, even if it's not within the boundaries, but only if you enter the address and not the business name in the search box. The limitation is set to selecting a business listing that is outside the boundaries of the Patch town.

This rule is in place to make sure that only the most relevant events for the community are posted.
