I'm having the same issue. I submitted a photo for a contest in another community, now I cannot get my home publication to be where I live.
I received this information from Matt Boyce at Patch.com:
To manually update your home publication please follow the directions.
1. Go to your edit profile page by clicking your name at the top right hand corner then clicking "Edit Profile" on the left hand side.
2. In the URL address, you'll see it says, wyandotte. Change that to timonium then hit enter.
3. Then, you should still be on your edit profile page. Go to the bottom, and you'll see a check box to change your home publication. Select it.
4. Click save.
Step # 2 did not work for me. I don't see wyandotte in the URL. Anyone know another way to change the home publication?
Grateful for your advice
Hi Cmurray - I just did this and instead of looking for wyandotte, look for the name of the city that's currently your home publication. Then, change that to the name of the city you WANT to be your home publication.
For instance, I was signed up through the Columbia Patch, but wanted my publication to be the Perry Hall Patch. My url said "columbia.patch.com" and I changed it to say "perryhall.patch.com" and Step 3 worked.
Hope that helps!
WOW that is so non-intuitive and cryptic. REALLY lazy and poor programming.
Thanks folks it worked!!!! Also a bit stupid you can't use your patch login credentials to login here?
Step 2 is not working for me. I change "oaklandtownship.patch.com" to "rochester.patch.com", but when I press enter it reverts back to "oaklandtownship.patch.com"
wow thanks so much, this worked for me. agreed it is very tough, have to dig around in the help forum in order to get to this answer - thank goodness we are smart folks! :)
Thanks, you guys, I appreciate your input. It didn't solve my problem, but I learned some helpful stuff!
